- Assorted hard candies (e.g., Jolly Ranchers), crushed
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and extracts until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Roll out half of the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- Cut out cookie shapes and smaller shapes in the center for the candy filling.
- Fill each center with crushed hard candies.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar or hanging as ornaments.
