  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat unsalted butter and maple sugar until combined. Add powdered sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in pure maple syrup and maple extract until fully incorporated.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until the dough forms.
  4. Chill the dough wrapped in plastic wrap for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out chilled dough to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into leaf shapes with a cookie cutter.
  6. Bake on parchment-lined sheets for 8-10 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool completely.
  7. For the cream filling, beat unsalted butter with powdered sugar, pure maple syrup, vanilla extract, maple extract, and salt until smooth. Assemble cookies by spreading filling between two cookies.
