Ingredients
- 12 large egg whites
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup plus 1 tbsp cake flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch cream of tartar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup rainbow sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and position the rack in the middle.
- In a clean bowl, combine room temperature egg whites with cream of tartar and salt.
- Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add 1 cup of sugar and beat until stiff peaks are achieved.
- Sift remaining sugar with cake flour; gently fold into egg whites using a rubber spatula.
- Stir in vanilla extract and carefully fold in rainbow sprinkles.
- Pour batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan; bake for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
- Invert the pan onto a wire rack to cool completely before removing.
