- 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 and 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with an electric mixer on high speed. Add both sugars and mix until well combined.
- Incorporate vanilla and eggs until smooth. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough into 10 balls (about 140 grams each) and chill in the fridge for at least 3 hours or freeze for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Place cookies on sheets, leaving space between them.
- Bake for 12-16 minutes until edges are golden but centers appear slightly underdone. Allow cooling on sheets for about 5 minutes before serving.
