  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 24 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
  • 8 tbsp butter, cubed
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 16 oz root beef broth
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup root beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp root beef broth extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and kosher salt. Whisk together until well blended.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semisweet chocolate chips and cubed butter. Heat in short intervals, stirring until melted and smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, pure vanilla extract, and root beef broth until combined. Add the melted chocolate mixture to this bowl and stir until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean.
  7. While your brownies are cooling, mix together softened butter, powdered sugar, root beef broth, and root beef broth extract until creamy and smooth.
  8. Once cooled, spread the frosting evenly over your brownies. Cut into squares and serve!
