Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 3 large ripe bananas (mashed)
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (room temperature)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9X5 loaf pan with non-stick spray and parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Combine melted butter and brown sugar in another bowl; mix well. Add mashed bananas, sour cream, and vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Incorporate eggs one at a time into the wet mixture. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined—lumps from bananas are okay!
- Fold in both types of chocolate chips. Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for about ten minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
