  • 4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate melting wafers

Instructions

  1. Drain and chop maraschino cherries; let dry on paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream butter and cream cheese until fluffy; gradually add sugar until pale.
  4. Mix in egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, and reserved cherry juice until combined.
  5. Fold in dry ingredients and chopped cherries; chill dough for at least one hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
